Michael Fuchs, MD

Professor of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and Chief of Gastroenterology at the Central Virginia VA Healthcare System in Richmond, Virginia.

 

He has over 20 years of research experience as a physician-scientist.

Dr. Fuchs’ research spans two major areas: (1) non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and its complications, and (2) non-invasive biomarkers and diagnostic tools in gastrointestinal and chronic liver diseases. His work in these areas extends from basic discovery to pivotal human trials and then development of practice guidelines and health care delivery and population based outcomes.
